State Awards for the Enterprise Main Street Program

Downtown Enterprise offers activities and entertainment for all ages. With a variety of shops, restaurants, an interactive art studio, bed and breakfast, and so much more, shoppers are sure to find everything they need. The recent state awards for the Enterprise Main Street program really come as no surprise to the many loyal local customers!

Enterprise Main Street

Enterprise Main Street is an initiative that grew from the recognition that a community is only as strong as its core. Its goal is to support Downtown Enterprise by utilizing the National Main Street approach.

Rooted in Southern culture and tradition, you can find friendly faces, hospitality, and a sweet Southern accent behind every door on Main Street. With its association with Fort Rucker, the home of Army Aviation, our downtown area’s influence goes way beyond that. Downtown Enterprise is a mix of both Southern heritage and cultural diversity.

A large array of businesses make up Downtown Enterprise:

  • Boutiques and retail companies
  • Candy shops
  • Restaurants and cafes
  • Art studios
  • Salons
  • Health and pharmaceuticals
  • Sign companies
  • Fitness
  • Construction and real estate

And so much more! Check out the full business directory here.

Main Street Awards

With only three years under their belt, the Enterprise Main Street program has earned statewide recognition for its successful downtown activities and promotions. These achievements came at the Main Street Alabama ninth annual Awards of Excellence dinner in Auburn on August 18th.

Main Street Enterprise received four 2022 Main Street Alabama Awards, including:

  • The Excellence in Promotion Award for the Spring Festival: Easter Hat Parade
  • The Excellence in Business Promotion Award for the Come & Get Your Love event
  • The Excellence in Building Design Award for the renovation of the Bliss on Main building
  • The Main Street Hero Award awarded to Friends of Main Street Board Member, Chad Wester

These state awards for the Enterprise Main Street program help ensure the continuation of downtown vitality and advice from the state’s top strategic planners.

Chad Wester, the owner of Boll Weevil Soap Company, stated that the biggest thing to come out of these recognitions is the celebrations of Downtown Enterprise’s success. The owner of The Olive Fruit, Louis Cameron, also says that the promotion and acknowledgement of Main Street helps him along with his either fellow merchants who find their home downtown.
