In the News: Park in Enterprise to Be Renamed

park in Enterprise to be renamed

Last month, the Enterprise City Council approved a resolution for a local park in Enterprise to be renamed in honor of one of its biggest supporters.

About the park in Enterprise to be renamed

According to reports, the park in Enterprise that is to be renamed is Westside Community Park. The Westside Community Association requested to rename the park in honor of Ray Helms, who passed away in April 2020.

Helms, a longtime resident of Enterprise, served as the park committee chairman and dedicated his time and efforts to continually improving the park for local citizens. In fact, it’s thanks to Helms that several of the park’s improvements were made possible.

The addition of a gazebo and a pavilion are but two examples of his commitment to the city and Westside Community Park in particular.

Now, with the council’s approval, the park in Enterprise to be renamed will soon have a new sign reflecting the new name, “Ray Helms Westside Community Park.”
