Did you know that the Enterprise Chamber of Commerce has been hosting the World’s Smallest St. Patrick’s Day Parade since 1993? While it may be known as the world’s smallest parade, that doesn’t mean it’s short on fun! Come see the shenanigans for yourself March 13 at noon in Downtown Enterprise.
About the World’s Smallest St. Patrick’s Day Parade
For one day a year in Enterprise, everyone gets to be Irish! Going on it’s 28th year, this fun tradition encourages parade watchers to come in their St. Patrick’s Day best. Green hair, green shades, green shirts, green tutus and green kilts—you’ll see it all at the World’s Smallest St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Enterprise!
The single-person parade starts at the Coffee County Courthouse. One lucky Irishman or Irishwoman is the Grand Marshal and proudly marches down East College Street and around the Boll Weevil Monument. The Grand Marshal will be hard to miss for many reasons, but the oversized Irish flag is a dead give-away.
The Shortest Race
Because 15 minutes isn’t long enough to celebrate, they city added the shortest race ever to extend the fun! The Half Pint 0.5K lets the non-runner tell all their friends they finished a race! Participants have to run a whopping 546 yards to the finish line.
However, preregistration is officially over. Same day registration opens at 11 a.m. at the courthouse.
Keeping it Safe
The Chamber is taking all the recommended precautions for public health and safety this year. There is even a virtual race option, and plans to live stream the parade are in the works. This way, more people can feel comfortable and participate.
For those on-site, please follow the recommended CDC guidelines such as social distancing and wearing a mask.
